Luxol Fast Blue Stain Variations

We did this as a test to see different versions of luxol fast blue (LFB). LFB is a stain for the myelin sheath or myelinated axons in brain and spinal cord.  We tested on rat brain.  There are 4 variations.  They are; LFB / Cresyl violet (CR), LFB /H&E, LFB / Periodic acid schiff (PAS) and LFB / nuclear fast red (NFR).   The H&E and NFR versions are for background staining only.  The PAS could show glycogen or fungus present and the CR shows nissl bodies.

  1. Furniture companies have dozens of nail guns in their wood shops as a result
of how great they succeed. So if still don’t know what to do yet,
consider a carpentry career. Pointing to his disciples, he said,
‘Here are my mother and my brothers.

  2. I’m not that much of a internet reader to be honest but your sites really nice, keep it up!
I’ll go ahead and bookmark your site to come back down the road.
    Many thanks
